Libor Vymyslický

Libor Vymyslický is a South Moravian painter whose work spans the floodplain forests along the Dyje river and international exhibitions across Europe, the USA and Australia. He needed a website that does justice to his work — without unnecessary noise.

Context

Over fifty exhibitions since 1999, working in oil, pastel, charcoal and acrylic, with an immediately recognisable subject: the trees of the floodplain forest he calls his “old men.” The client isn’t a gallery or an institution. He is a person and his work. The website needs to say that clearly.

What we solved

• Presenting the work. An online gallery as the centrepiece of the site — paintings at proper quality, laid out cleanly, free of distractions.
• Exhibitions. A full list of upcoming and past exhibitions (47+ entries) with details, all manageable through the CMS without a developer.
• Commissions. A dedicated section for custom work and interior decoration — separate from the gallery, aimed at potential clients.
• Atmosphere. A video hero of the painter at work, a calligraphic logo, a dark minimalist design. Not a generic artist template.

Outcome

A Next.js site with Payload CMS. The client manages the gallery, exhibitions and news on his own. The site works as a digital studio — somewhere to send a collector, a journalist or an exhibition curator.
